Sara stood at the end of the driveway, every so often she would glance over her shoulder at the house. They had rented it for the two weeks they would be in Cedar Falls, the location they had chosen for the wedding. The 6 bedroom home was enough to accommodate all but Aldo and Frank, but she assumed that they would prefer to stay in a hotel and she couldn’t blame them.

She began pacing back and forth, one moment her arms folded across her chest, the next she held them at her sides.

Nervous about seeing Jessica after learning that her sister in law was pregnant, she was also very excited for them.

She heard the front door swing open against the side of the house and heard LJ calling out to her a moment later.

“Should be hear in a few minutes.” She called back. He answered her, but she couldn’t make out the words and when she spun around she saw Caleb tottering across the yard towards her, he fell to his knees and decided that it would be quicker and easier to crawl.

She stepped forward and leant down, picking him up, he squealed when she held him. “What are you doing out here?”

He squealed again and waved his arms in the air, apparently he wanted to be put down again.

She placed him onto the grass and watched him as his fingers tried to latch onto a handful of grass, but a moment later he became more fascinated with a stone and Sara quickly lunged forward grabbing it of off him.

“You can’t eat that baby.” She threw the stone down towards the fence.

“Good thing you throw like a girl.”

Sara spun around and saw Paul standing at the gate, their car was parked on the street and she smiled back at him. “Any trouble finding the place?”

He shook his head. “Not really, but if anyone tries to tell you otherwise, they’re a liar.”

Sara smiled again, leant down, picked Caleb up and walked towards Paul. “Where is Jess?”

“Ok, please don’t kill me, but she’s going to be here in a couple of hours.”

“What are you talking about?” She replied.

“She’s coming up with Gretchen, Chris and Serena.” He told her.

Sara took a few more steps forward. “And why is she doing that, why didn’t she say anything when I spoke to her.”

“Well seeing as you already know, judging by the look on your face and how you almost lunged at me when I said that she wasn’t here, she had a Doctor’s appointment this morning.”

“Is everything alright?” She wanted to know.

He held his hand up. “Yes, everything is fine, just a regular appointment, so you can stop freaking out.”

He walked over to her, took Caleb and headed towards the house. “Oh while you’re there, the bags are still in the car.”

Sara shook her head and followed him back up to the house.

“Well can’t say I’m shocked at this.” Lincoln said as he walked across the kitchen. He pulled out a chair and sat down, looking up at his brother, he flashed a grin, and Michael glared back at him.

“Do you mind.”

“No, not at all.” Lincoln laughed. “So what happened to the cool calm demeanor you were sporting just two days ago.”

“I suppose you think that you’re funny.” Michael shot back. “And I’m fine.”

“Yeah I can see that, as for the being funny part, it happens occasionally.”

“Well now wouldn’t be one of those times.” He leant forward resting his hands on the table.

“Ok what the hell happened to you?” Lincoln asked him. “Asshole.”

Michael sat back and looked over at him. “Nothing has happened to me, I was simply sitting here thinking, and I’m fine. Should I say it again just in case?”

“You remember that part, just a minute ago, where I called you an asshole, I think it still stands.”

“Well you know what they say, one can always find another.”

“So you’ve sunk to those tactics now huh?” Lincoln grinned at him. He shifted in the seat and faced his brother. “Mikey, you’re not really freaking out over getting married are you?”

“No I’m not.”

“Cos you and Sara have been together for 4 years.”

“I’m aware of that Linc and how many times do I have to tell you that I’m fine.”

“Right, want to try that again, really convince me.” He shot back. “I know you better than anyone Mikey, what the hell happened?”

Michael nodded back at him and reached behind him to the small shelf that sat against the wall and picked up a newspaper.

“What is that?”

Michael placed the paper down and turned the pages until he found what he was looking for, pushing It across to Lincoln. “This is what happened.”

Lincoln sat forward, reading the section that Michael was pointing at. “You’re damn well kidding me, that’s today?”

“Yes its today.”

“Chance Woods, shit I guess that I forgot about it, 4 years today huh.” Lincoln replied.

“I’d really like for Sara not to remember, LJ as well. They shouldn’t.”

Lincoln nodded back at him. “Yeah, that makes sense. Sorry.”

Michael shrugged his shoulders. “Don’t worry about it.” But he was going to anyway, they both would.

“Well at least you’ll have your own soon.”

Paul turned to look at Stuart who was sitting on the sofa with Lorelei who had been crying for the past ten minutes.

“Yeah, and how much am I looking forward to that.” He replied, pointing to Lorelei.

“Ah come on, this right here, is a dream come true.” Stuart grinned back at him. “What’s not to love.”

“Guess I’m not really a baby person.” Paul told him.

“Uh, well if you say so.”

Paul was still standing there, still holding Caleb. “That’s uh… shut up, its different, I can give him back.”

“You won’t be saying that in a few months time. You know I think its hilarious.” Stuart said. “I really would agree with you, not a baby person, and now you’re stuck with it.”

“Thank you so much, I’m so glad you think that this is funny.”

“I do, I think its fucking hilarious.” He grinned back at him.

They both glanced over their shoulders, somewhere within the house Sara was either extremely happy about something, or about to be incredibly pissed of.

“The true joys of wedding planning.” Stuart said. He stood up and started walking towards the door. “You really don’t want to miss this, trust me.”
